Fundraising and Fellowship in Support of Parish Ministries
The Fall Fair Committee organizes a number of events throughout the year to raise funds in support of the work of the parish. The Fall Fair itself is generally held the first Saturday of October and consists of Morning Coffee, Luncheon, and a variety of stalls, including the following:
Pantry, Woolen Goods, Toys and Tots, Books, Jewelry, Christmas, Handicrafts, Candy,
Plants, International, Novelties, & Mystery Table.
Other Events
A week or so after the Fair we hold a soup supper and card game. Some items from the fair are available at this time as well.
On a Saturday in late November the Mini-Sale takes place, offering items remaining from the fair at reduced prices, along with morning coffee and baked goods.
On the last Saturday in April we hold our very popular Cold Plate Supper and Silent Auction.
Opportunities
There are many ways to participate in the activities of the Fall Fair Committee. Some groups meet regularly throughout the year to produce items for the fair. This has resulted in great friendships over the years. Others prefer to make or bake items for the fair on their own and deliver them to the church office at the appointed time. Still others volunteer to help on the day of the various events, either in preparation, serving or clean-up. We have many jobs that need doing and will be happy to help you find your fit. Our candy stall is a sell-out each year and we are always in need of donated candy-making ingredients or candy makers. Watch for our request each August
We rely on the talents and generosity of parishioners to donate items for the silent auction in the Spring. The success of our fundraising activities is due to the enthusiastic efforts of our volunteers. Whatever your age or ability, we would love to have you join us. Through our fundraising we support the ministries of the parish—and we have a lot of fun doing so!
