Anglican Church Women (ACW)
Uniting women in a fellowship of worship, study and offering.

The ACW is a diocesan program with a common constitution and program handbook.

Its mission is to unite women in a fellowship of worship, study and offering, which will deepen and strengthen their own spiritual lives and lead them into Christian service everywhere and to bring God’s love to a world in need of Him.

The women strive to be closer to Jesus and give to others through outreach activities, such as knitting neonatal baby caps for the Janeway Hospital and prayer shawls for the Cancer Clinic. As well, the ACW supports parish activities and groups, such as the Fall Fair and Cold Plate Supper, and also caters to funeral receptions for members and others.

ACW meetings always open with a prayer, a hymn, and a reading from Scripture, after which business is conducted and then end the evening with a social time. The ACW meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesday monthly.  Regular meetings take place in the auditorium of Canon Wood Hall, though sometimes have additional gatherings, such as when invited to visit an ACW unit at another parish.  Their year begins with an opening potluck in September and finishes with a special closing dinner in May.

The ACW would love to have new members and cordially invite women of the Parish to come along to a meeting any time.  The welcome mat is always out!

For more information, please contact the Parish office.

Ladies’ Book Study
Learning and growing in Christ and living the Christian life by our example.

This is a group of women who get together weekly from September to May to read and discuss Christian books.

A typical meeting includes opening and closing prayers, a song of praise, taking turns reading the week’s chapter aloud, stimulating discussion and, of course, a lunch at the end!

They care for one another and sometimes share personal stories but no one feels pressured to do so.

The Ladies’ Book Study would love to see new members join!

Meetings take place in the Canon Wood Hall on Mondays from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.

For more information, please contact the Parish office.

Stretch-a-cise
Building community through fitness, reflection and social activities.

Stretch-a-cise is a welcoming group of ladies who get together once a week for some gentle exercise (seated stretching), a period of spiritual reflection and discussion, and a game of cards, finishing up with a light snack.

Meetings are on Tuesdays at 1:30 pm, from September through to May, in the Canon Howitt Room in the Parish hall. New members are always welcome. Come and bring a friend!

For more information, please contact Roberta Osmond
