STEPHEN MINISTRY
Are you hurting and in need of a caring relationship?

Stephen Ministry is Christ caring for people through people; it is one-to-one lay caring ministry that takes place in congregations. Stephen Ministry congregations, such as St. Thomas’, equip and empower lay caregivers—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting. When a Care Receiver is identified - people struggling through a difficult time in life such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, or some other life crisis – they are assigned a Stephen Minister by the Rector following an initial interview. When Stephen Ministers are assigned to Care Receivers they are committed to weekly visits and continue in ministry to them as is needed. In Stephen ministry, men are matched with men and women with women. The relationship between a care receiver and a Stephen Minister is strictly confidential.

If you are in need of a Stephen Minister or would like to find out more about this ministry, please contact Rev. Greg Mercer
